Welcome to Campus Compass. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data in an open and transparent manner. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our academic workflow management platform.

2. Legal Framework

This policy is formulated in accordance with the laws of Kenya, primarily the Data Protection Act, No. 24 of 2019 and its supporting regulations, including the Data Protection (General) Regulations, 2021. We also comply with the Access to Information Act, 2016 where applicable.

In the event of a data breach that is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC) and, where required, you, within 72 hours of becoming aware of it.

We will not retain your personal data for longer than is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected. We have established a data retention schedule in line with the Data Protection (General) Regulations, 2021, and will securely delete or anonymize your data once this period expires.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using the Campus Compass platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

2. Description of Service

Campus Compass is an online platform that connects students with qualified academic professionals for the purpose of providing academic assistance and workflow management. The service is designed to support learning, not to facilitate academic dishonesty.

3. User Responsibilities

Account Integrity: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password.
Lawful Use: You agree to use the service only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of others.
Academic Integrity: Users are solely responsible for ensuring their use of completed assignments complies with their educational institution's academic integrity and honor code policies. Campus Compass shall not be held liable for any academic misconduct.

4. Intellectual Property

Platform IP: All content on the platform, including logos, text, and software, is the property of Campus Compass or its licensors and is protected by Kenyan intellectual property laws.
User Content: Students retain ownership of the original assignment materials they submit. Academic professionals retain ownership of the solutions they create, granting the student a license to use the work for academic purposes.

5. Prohibited Activities

You may not use the platform to:

Submit materials that are fraudulent, harassing, or violate any law.
Infringe upon the intellectual property rights of others.
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the platform.

6. Limitation of Liability

Campus Compass acts as an intermediary platform. We do not guarantee specific academic outcomes. To the fullest extent permitted by Kenyan law, Campus Compass shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

7. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the platform for violations of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion.

8. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Kenya. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Kenya.

9. Access to Information

In compliance with the Access to Information Act, 2016, we are committed to transparency. Users may request information about our services and operations that is not exempt from disclosure under the Act.
